Team Flower Conference takeaways
In addition to the "headline" florists who spoke and held small group sessions on topics ranging from bouquet design to branding, I had the opportunity to meet and work alongside some amazing attendees. Some were designers and shop owners with decades in the business. Others were newbies. But we all had a common passion for our work and a strong desire to connect and grow into the new year.
As one of the conference assistants, I helped with some of the behind-the-scenes activities, which was a great way to get to know other attendees and learn more about how to pull off a big event of this kind. I'm starting the new year with many new flower friends and a head full of great ideas. The trick now will be incorporating the things I learned and staying motivated as I'm faced with inevitable challenges.
One of my big takeaways from the conference was that we all face fear, especially when we are in a creative field. Fear of success, fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of scarcity...the list goes on. Experiencing fear is something we all have in common, but to be successful, you must not give in to fear! See the fear, feel the fear, just don't let it stop you. That's my resolution for 2020.
