I had the pleasure of meeting lots of lovely brides-to-be this Sunday at the Cameron Park Community Center for their 2019 Bridal Affair. A stunning macrame arch weaving from fellow maker Jordynn of Spindrift Studios set the tone for my booth. Taking my floral cues from nature and the blooming fruit trees of early spring, I covered the frame of the arch with cherry and plum blooming branches, deep burgundy tea tree foliage, manzanita, and lichen-covered branches. For my sweetheart table setting, I was inspired by subtle jewel tones: rose quartz, amethyst, and garnet. I used Japanese magnolia, hellebore, and fern to evoke a natural, woodland setting. I was so pleased with how it all turned out--and delighted that my color palette resonated with many of the brides with whom I spoke. I received so many comments on the amazing macrame arch that Jordynn designed, and I can't wait until the first bride gets to use it for her big day!
