Last week to order fall wreaths

Fall is finally here in all of her pumpkin-scented, scarf-wrapped, sweater-weather glory! It's the last week to order a wreath for your front door in those irresistible, vivid fall oranges, reds, and yellows. In just a few days, I'll begin placing orders for the holidays, trading pumpkins and maple leaves for pine cones and spruce. The Wreaths for Recovery project has kept me busy with more than 50 wreath orders since late August. I'm looking forward to wrapping up the last wreath orders this week and tallying my proceeds so I can begin passing your generosity on to family and friends in Louisiana.

Theodore Roosevelt said, "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." I certainly put that sentiment into practice with this little project of mine. If I had to add anything to Teddy's original quote, it would be, "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are...and then pray!" I am so grateful for God's intervention in my life, the daily saving graces and the specific answers to prayer. Through this project, God has softened my heart and opened my eyes to the goodness and generosity of my community. I feel more connected, more at home. Isn't it always true that when you give abundantly, you get so much more in return.
